Abstract:
This document presents a time dependent solution of the continuity equation. This equation describes the space charge density inside an ionization chamber subjected to a continuous external ionization density rate N. The result is applied for the pulsed beam case and a formula is derived for saturation free chamber operation. This formula takes into account the time duration of the pulsed beam.
