Abstract:
Events induced by neutrons resulting from the interaction of cosmic-ray
muons in the rock form a potential background to the observation of atmospheric
neutrino events in the MINOS Far Detector. This note describes an estimate
of such background using GEANT4 to simulate the interactions of muons in
rock.
